Ray Douglas Bradbury was born on 22 August 1920, in Waukegan, Illinois. He died in southern California on 5 June 2012. He was 91.
Bradbury was the author of more than 27 novels and story collections — most famously “The Martian Chronicles,” “Fahrenheit 451,” “Dandelion Wine” and “Something Wicked This Way Comes” — and more than 600 short stories

Incredibly sad news for humanity.  One of the great masters of Science Fiction has passed along to wherever legends end up.

Oh my god. My heart just broke. I didn’t know this had happened… Ray Bradbury is my favorite author. I don’t even have the words to describe how amazing he is that would actually do him justice. Wow. Rest in peace, old friend.
